Have you ever stopped to ask yourself: Is the way I’m spending my time actually moving me closer to the life I’m here to live?

Not the life you think you should be living.
Not the life someone else expects of you.
But the life that feels deeply aligned with who you are and why you are here.

I believe each of us has a purpose. A mission even and that discovering it is only the beginning.

The next step is learning how to walk toward it, one small step at a time.

Where is your life force energy going?

Every day, we are given a precious resource: time.

And with our time, we direct our attention, our energy, our thoughts, our choices and ultimately our life force.

So it can be helpful to pause and ask: Where am I directing my energy?

Are the things I’m saying yes to bringing me closer to the person I am becoming?

Are the things filling my calendar aligned with what matters most to me?

Or am I spending so much of my precious energy reacting to life, taking care of everyone else, scrolling, worrying, rushing and trying to keep up that there is very little left for the things my soul is calling me toward?

This isn’t about creating another list of things you should be doing.

It’s about becoming more intentional with the time you have and directing your will… that beautiful inner capacity to choose where you place your energy.

Sometimes moving toward your purpose doesn’t look dramatic.

It might be making one phone call.

Taking a walk.

Writing for 15 minutes.

Having that difficult conversation.

Saying no to something that drains you.

Saying yes to something that lights you up.

Meditating.

Resting.

Taking the next small step.

Purpose is not something we necessarily arrive at one day. It is something we step into through the choices we make today.

And don’t forget the vessel carrying you there.

There is another piece of this conversation that is so important.

We are spiritual beings having a human experience, but we are experiencing this life through a physical body.

This body is our vessel.

And if we want this physical container to carry our life force and our gifts into the world for many years, we have to care for it.

Rest matters.

Sleep matters.

Nourishment matters.

Movement matters.

Stillness matters.

Connection matters.

We cannot continually burn the candle at both ends and expect our vessel to carry us indefinitely.

Burnout doesn’t make us more devoted to our purpose.

Sometimes rest is part of the mission.

Sometimes the most purposeful thing you can do is stop.

Breathe.

Be still.

Allow your nervous system to settle.

And replenish.

Meditation: a doorway back to yourself

One of my favorite tools for creating this space is meditation.

Meditation isn’t a replacement for sleep. Our bodies still need adequate sleep for physical and emotional health.

But meditation can be a beautiful way to give the mind and body deep rest and recuperation during our waking hours to help settle our nervous system–and for me meditation can feel like a good nap.

Think of it as creating a sacred pause.

It doesn’t need to be for long. Even a ten or twenty minute meditation can be incredibly restorative.

You aren’t fixing.

You aren’t rushing.

You aren’t consuming.

You are simply allowing yourself to pause and be.

For many people, that kind of intentional stillness can feel incredibly restorative. Regular meditation can also help us become more aware of where our attention and energy are going, making it easier to consciously redirect them toward what truly matters.

And that is where meditation becomes more than relaxation.

It becomes a practice of alignment.

A practice of coming home to yourself.

A practice of remembering:

Who am I?
What matters to me?
What am I here to do and contribute?
Where do I want my life force energy to go today?

Start small.

You don’t need to completely reinvent your life tomorrow.

Choose one small thing.

One small step toward your purpose.

One small shift in how you spend your time.

One moment of meditation.

One boundary.

One nourishing choice.

One act of courage.

One moment of gratitude.

Then do it again tomorrow.

And the next day.

Over time, these small steps and choices begin to create a direction.

And direction creates momentum.

Your purpose doesn’t require you to rush.

It asks you to listen.

It asks you to become intentional.

It asks you to care for the vessel that carries you.

And it asks you to keep walking.

Because the world needs what only you can bring.

Need a little help finding your way back to your energy?

If you’ve been feeling depleted, scattered or disconnected from your purpose, meditation can be a wonderful place to begin.

I offer guided meditations both in person and virtually, creating a supportive space to slow down, reconnect with yourself and replenish your energy.

If you’re local, I would love to have you join me in person. There is something powerful about meditating in community—the shared energy, connection and sense that we don’t have to walk this path alone.

Join me for an in-person or virtual meditation

And if you’re not local, you can join me virtually from wherever you are.

So tonight, or whenever you have a quiet moment, take a few minutes to pause.

Put your hand over your heart.

Take a breath.

And ask yourself:

“Is the way I am spending my time helping me become who I am here to be?”

You don’t need to have the whole answer.

Just listen for the next small step.

Then take it.

Your mission is waiting—not somewhere far away in the future, but in the choices you make with the life, energy and time you have been given today.
