Slow Cooked Apples
Ingredients
The Apples:
- 3 pounds firm cooking/baking apples (granny smith, carlsons)
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup walnuts
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 1.5 - 3 Hours
Total Time: 1.75 - 3.75 Hours
Directions
- Peel the apples, take out the seeds and slice 1/2 inch thick (or quartered if you would like)
- Place the apples in a 4-quart or larger slow cooker
- Add sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice and stir to coat well
- Cover and cook until the apples are very tender and almost translucent, 1-1 1/2 hours on high or 3 hours on low.
- Top with dried fruit and nuts
